I mean, what happens when a kid grows up into PTSD after being held in an American concentration camp for children, ferphoquesakes? And then get fostered into a family prone to secrets?
This is a hypothetical situation (I really hope so) and pushed beyond the edge.

five years since the cages Jesus still stares into space
Maria remembers her motherwailing their names

Maria turned sixteen the other day Jesus is barely ten
